friday I’m in love.

welcome back friday! be sure to pop over to kendra’s blog too to see what she’s up to {& amanda periodically joins us as well}. we would love for you to join us! leave a comment and we’ll come check out what you’re loving each week!

{one} storq minimal materinity basics.

storq dress

obviously I am keen on maternity clothes these days as I am nearly to the point I can fit into them. I have always sort of been anti-maternity clothes though because I think a lot of them are really matronly, & was/am hoping to wear “normal” clothes as much as I can. for the most part I can wear the vast majority of my wardrobe, though pants are becoming more of an issue. any-hoo, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this storq line of maternity basics: just a dress, leggings, a tank, & a skirt. & much more affordable than a lot of maternity wear out there!

{two} snail mail made easy by postable.

postable

as a person who absolutely adores snail mail {I send letters via mail any chance I get!} I am always interested in new ways of sending mail. postable is a company that is like snail mail for the 21st century! you go online & pick out cards & type out your messages, & then postable prints & mails the cards out. it is a bit more expensive than the old fashioned pen, paper, & stamp, but definitely a convenient luxury!

{three} sunny weather in seattle!

after a very wet & dreary weekend, it was such a pleasant surprise to have the sun shining this morning {& in the forecast for the next few days}, especially since we have officially hit spring! around the pnw all of the bulbs are up {daffodils are blooming with most tulips on their way} & spring florals blooming {rhodies & cherry blossoms}, but normally the weather doesn’t feel like “spring” until much, much later {like late april or may}. when we do get sun & some warmer temps this time of year, you have to just enjoy the moment & take it in since you never know when it will be back around. thanks seattle for a perfectly sunny start to spring!

{enjoyed some rum cake straight from little cayman. thanks mom & dad!}

gosh, how is the weekend over already? it poured rain for most of the weekend which stunk because it was so beautiful at the end of last week. bummer. while I am excited about the spring-look to seattle – flowers, bushes, & trees starting to bloom – I am SO ready for spring weather! my mama was in town which is always a treat, but seems to make time fly even faster. how was your weekend?

{one} a little tough love from papa lion.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7h4TESJs7M&w=448&h=252&hd=1]

this video is hilarious & totally made my week. I know aaron won’t be like this with our kids & I am hoping sadie won’t be either!

{two} anthro cat-eye sunglasses.

anthro glasses

I picked these up at anthro a few weeks ago with my birthday discount & I am in love (surprise, surprise). as much as I adore the style of expensive sunglasses – like these prada ones! – I just can’t get myself to spend that much money on an accessory that I will likely lose or sit on. I also have issues finding glasses that fit me well since I need them to sit close enough to my face to accommodate my nearly-on-existent nose bridge, but far away enough not to hit my lashes on the lenses. there are nearly a perfect fit!

{three} mercer d’Orsay flatsmercer d’Orsay flats.

d'orsay flats

I have a pair of d’Orsay heels that are one of my favorite pairs of shoes ever, & I am loving these d’Orsay flats that are making an appearance for the spring & summer. also, any flats with a pointy toe are a win in my book {since they make my tiny foot look a tad bigger}.

{this week sadie got bored & unwound an entire spool of twine she found in my craft supplies. aaron & I spent 15 minutes trying to find an end so I could attempt to re-spin it. still a work in progress.}

we had a fun & productive weekend spending time with old & new friends, & finally taking a much-needed trip to the goodwill in an effort to get a kick-start on spring cleaning. after days & days of rain, we finally got a few dry days, or moments, starting on friday & finishing up with some actual sunshine today – it was glorious! while I am still reeling from the spring forward this morning, it was all-in-all a great weekend! how was your weekend?

{one} hatch collection spring/summer line.

barefoot dressslouch dress

um, hello gorgeous clothing line, let along a maternity clothing line! I have been daydreaming about all things hatch collection since long before I was pregnant. but now, I am so obsessed! I need to save my pennies {quickly!} & pick up some of these beautiful pieces.

if you aren’t familiar with hatch collection, it is a line of clothing that is designed for women to wear before, during, & after pregnancy. plus, with each purchase $5 is donated to the Every Mother Counts charity which advocates for maternal and child health all over the world.

{two} maternity picture shoot with dog.

maternity   dog

this melts my heart. I am totally having a photoshoot with sadie & my bump!

{three} words of wisdom.

quote

after a bit of a tough week, I found this quote that I had pinned earlier & it was exactly what I needed to hear. I feel like there is so {so} much going on in life right now that it is overwhelming. I need to take some time to just breathe, live in the moment, & see how things pan out.

IMG_4675

{thank goodness for the university village’s rain umbrellas. it was pouring rain today!}

IMG_4676

{sadie, I don’t think you are comfortable. or spoiled.}

IMG_4677

{after bashing my shin into the rowing machine – yep, big bruise! – our plans to continue with clean-up around the house took a back seat to an embarrassing amount of hours of oscar red carpet.}

IMG_4679

{this is sadie’s version of heaven: a nearly empty jar of peanut butter.}

we had a really great weekend, except for the return of the rain. after an amazing week of spring-like weather, we were humbled & reminded just how far away spring is here in the PNW. boo. we got started working on cleaning out our basement. mostly it is just a bigger mess than it was as we have just shifted stuff around into huge piles: to pack, to trash, to donate. all-in-all a great weekend, though I am still in denial that it is already march… how was your weekend?

welcome back friday! be sure to pop over to kendra’s blog too to see what she’s up to. we would love for you to join us! leave a comment and we’ll come check out what you’re loving each week!

{one} freshly picked pop-up shot at land of nod.

if you haven’t heard of freshly picked, it is a shop that makes the most adorable baby moccasins. aaron is pretty anti-shoes for tiny kiddos, but I think I will have to pick up at least a pair {or two} at least for the fall & winter… any-hoo, there will be a pop-up shop at the university village land of nod store on sunday, march 9th. who wants to join me?

{two} the bachelor.

yep, the bachelor. I said it. I usually don’t watch a lot of reality tv {or much tv really} since we don’t have cable, but for some reason the past few weeks on monday nights I find myself turning on abc at 8 pm. I blame it on aaron having a late work thing a few mondays ago. I have never watched any other season of the bachelor{ette}! call it a guilty pleasure I guess, but I will be tuning in for these last two weeks. what will the girls spill about the show next week, & who will juan pablo choose? {also, does it bother anyone else than juan pablo doesn’t appear to have a job? I am not sure his job as a “former soccer player” is doing much for him these days.}

{three} sun in seattle.

you read that right, we have had sun in seattle the past few days. & it has been glorious! normally I wouldn’t say anything because I wouldn’t want to jinx it, but there is already rain in the forecast as early as this weekend. these past two days especially have been sunny, mid-50s, & it has felt like spring! my spring bulbs are just starting to make an appearance & there are daffodils all over the city already. very exciting. I know this is just a teaser & that it will be winter again in just a few days, but, hey, it is nice to dream about living in a city where spring comes before may.

{meet fred, my grandmother’s new roommate!}

we had the most amazing weekend celebrating february birthdays with our friends & family. seriously, it was the best! sleeping in, eating macarons, & catching up with friends is the very best way to spend the weekend. now I am in disbelief that we are in the last week of march already – where did february go?

{one} baby name tool.

as names for our future babe are on the brain now, I am looking for insight & inspiration everywhere. I came across this really cool tool yesterday that lets you look at the history of a name in the US. just go to the tool, type in a name, & see when & where it hit its popularity.

{two} Oh Joy! + Target collaboration.

oh joy target

joy is one of my favorite bloggers. I could sit & pick her brain all day! I was so, so excited to see that she is collaborating with target on a party line. just in time for spring & summer festivities! mid-march can’t come soon enough!

{three} spring.

speaking of spring, it can’t come soon enough for this lady. I am so, so tired of the cold winter weather & we have had a pretty mild season! we are now less than one month away from the glorious spring season & even though we won’t really get spring weather until may, I am still so excited! march 20 or bust!

{four} thank you again for all of the sweet comments & words of support on our big news. we have really been feeling the love this past week & are very blessed to have such great family & friends!
