friday I’m in love.

welcome back friday! be sure to pop over to kendra’s blog too to see what she’s up to & welcome mary beth to our friday love. we would love for you to join us! leave a comment and we’ll come check out what you’re loving each week!

{one} fall clothes.

overalls

{overalls: babyGap (similar)  // onesie: crewcuts // moccasins: freshly picked}

specifically I mean eloise in overalls & moccasins! we had a bit of cool fall weather late this week which meant I jumped at the chance to bundle e up! I am so glad I got to get her into these overalls before she outgrew them!

{two} julep fifi polish.

while it seems like it may be years before I ever have another manicure, I am loving this creamy pink polish from julep!

{three} advice.

advice

{via pinterest}

this advice may be relevant for a lot of aspects in life, it is so appropriate for a first-time mama! it is easy to get overwhelmed by all of the opinions, viewpoints, must-dos, & shoulds when you are a new parent!

what are you loving this week?

eloise {newborn photos}

as you may have seen in the facebook post here, we had melissa {who also did our maternity photos} do a newborn shoot for eloise. she was 10 days old & looks so teeny tiny!

Tiny-Newborn-Photography1Tiny-Newborn-Photography56Tiny-Newborn-Photography38Tiny-Newborn-Photography16Tiny-Newborn-Photography23Tiny-Newborn-Photography28Tiny-Newborn-Photography40Tiny-Newborn-Photography25

even though I had worked with melissa to get this photoshoot set up before e was born {we couldn’t finalize the shoot date until she was born… obviously} I was really nervous to get them done. it meant getting out of the house with e at just 10 days post-partem & driving down to tacoma to melissa’s studio – about 45 minutes. it just seemed like a lot at the time & it was. but, aaron went with me & my mom met us at the studio, & I am so, so thankful that we did these. not only do we have the sweetest pictures of e as a squishy little newborn, but some great early family photos {not in the hospital!}.

did any of you mamas have newborn photos taken?

my weekend in pictures.

{I panicked on friday afternoon when I looked on the back porch & saw all of these boxes since I thought maybe I was online shopping in my sleep! turns out most of them were for eloise… feeling blessed by everyone’s generosity!}

IMG_5331

{what a pretty birchbox this month!}

IMG_5332

{some day eloise will be bigger than her toys. thanks for the elephant grammie!}

IMG_5334

{we got out of the house on saturday afternoon to enjoy the great summer weather & good company. such a fun BBQ!}

IMG_5336

{sorting thru eloise’s clothes. between her grammie & her nana, this kid is set!}

IMG_5337

{first official nap in her crib this weekend. she looks so tiny in there!}

IMG_5339

{finally got some shelves & hanging rods in eloise’s closet. thanks to my husband!}

IMG_5340

{a new doormat since ours got trashed during the renovation. good day!}

holy cow this weekend went quickly! but really, the only reason I even know it’s the weekend is because aaron is home during the day… oh well! we had a gorgeous stretch of sunny, hot summer weather this weekend which looks like it will last thru at least the beginning of the week. hard to complain about a beautiful indian summer in the pnw! we got a lot of work done around the house this weekend, moving things around to where they really ought to be rather than in random places throughout the house. or at least close to where they should live! I am hoping to get some final house updates to share – soon I hope!

how was your weekend?

friday I’m in love.

welcome back friday! after a summer hiatus, kendra & I are back at it sharing what we love on fridays! be sure to pop over to kendra’s blog too to see what she’s up to {& amanda periodically joins us as well}. we would love for you to join us! leave a comment and we’ll come check out what you’re loving each week!

{one} unplugging.

forget

{via}

though my phone is stuck to my side in order to track feedings, diapers, etc. with eloise {we are using Baby Connect}, I have been making an effort to unplug when I have some downtime, especially while nursing. it is so easy to get lost in social media news feeds & random other things on my phone instead of being present in what is going on in my real life – like eloise!

{two} diy baby leggings.

leggings

{via}

I still can’t get over some of e’s baby clothes – hello so teeny! I am hoping once I get into the swing of things with e {shorter feeding times & longer naps!}, I can diy a few pairs of leggings for her.

{three} fall & halloween.

pumpkins

{via}

I love summer as much as the next person {probably more!} but as the weather is starting to turn in the PNW, I find that I am getting really excited for the fall. fall clothes, crisp air, & halloween! I am loving non-traditional pumpkins like these chalkboard ones above. now I just have to figure out what to dress up e as for her first halloween… such big decisions!

my weekend in pictures.

IMG_5285

[eloise was rooting on our huskies in their home opener against eastern washington. they barely squeaked out a win.}

IMG_5287

{lots of college football was watched on saturday.}

IMG_5288

{like father, like daughter. naptime at the lower house.}

IMG_5289

{this was my view almost all day on saturday. between all of the feeding sessions, eloise preferred to take naps on mama. did I mention it was over 90 degrees?}

IMG_5290

{thank you, thank you to our wonderful friends & neighbors who have brought over dinner & other goodies these past few weeks!}

IMG_5296

{eloise tried out her whale bathtub which she actually enjoyed {over her normal sponge bath}.}

IMG_5297

{we attempted to clip eloise’s fingernails during a nap since she has been clawing at her face so much. we got three nails in before we abandoned the mission. the nail file is here to stay…}

IMG_5298

{be still my heart – seeing aaron & eloise melts my heart! plus, a little factoid that eloise is three of aaron’s hands in length!}

IMG_5302

{our first family trip to target was a success. thank goodness aaron was with me or else I wouldn’t have been able to buy anything – we need someone to push the cart & someone to push the stroller! some day I will figure it out.}

IMG_5306

{we were rooting for the colts this evening, but alas peyton & the broncos were too good.}

we had another warm streak of summer weather sweep thru the pnw which made the upstairs almost unbearably warm – thank goodness for some good fans! we mostly hung out at the house & got very little done other than lots of feedings, naps, & watching of football games. eloise turned 4 weeks today which is so hard to believe – updates to come later in the week! some things are becoming more routine, but everything still feels a bit chaotic around the house. I guess that is life with a newborn, right? how was your weekend?

friday I’m in love.

welcome back friday! after a summer hiatus, kendra & I are back at it sharing what we love on fridays! be sure to pop over to kendra’s blog too to see what she’s up to {& amanda periodically joins us as well}. we would love for you to join us! leave a comment and we’ll come check out what you’re loving each week!

{one} lucy darling clothing divider sets.

Closet_Dividers_floral_grande

even though eloise doesn’t have any rods or shelves in her nursery closet {it’s on the to-do list!} I am loving these clothes dividers from the lucy darling shop. I may have to snag this set!

{two} college football season.

Eloise_BSU

one good thing about the end of summer is that college football season is officially upon us! while I am definitely a seahawks fan, I much prefer watching a college game to the nfl. I have a good feeling about both my uw huskies & bsu broncos! even if we don’t attend any games, we will definitely be cheering on our teams & indoctrinating eloise!

{three} fall fashion: jumpsuits.

anthro jumpsuit

{anthro everett jumpsuit}

while I do consider myself a pretty early adopter when it comes to fashion, jumpsuits were one trend that I really wasn’t sure of at first. maybe it is because I am so short, or perhaps because they are so impractical, but I never saw myself sporting the jumpsuit trend until very recently. I picked up a simple black one from old navy earlier this summer with hopes I could wear it this fall – perfect for a date night! – but also have been loving this one from anthro. so sophisticated & chic!

IMG_5266

{eloise was not ready to wake up from her afternoon nap for a feeding. she looks so proper!}

IMG_5267

{aaron’s parents were in town & eloise got to meet her papaw & nana.}

we had lots of family in town – my mom & uncle, & aaron’s parents – which made for lots of cuddles of our sweet little eloise. it didn’t feel like much of a holiday weekend since we stuck around the house without many plans, but it was so nice to have aaron home for one extra day this weekend! I am completely in shock that it is already september, but for someone who has no idea what day of the week it is, I guess it really doesn’t matter exactly what month it is… how was your long weekend?

M

{we ventured out to pure barre’s newest grand opening at greenlake. congrats sami & brandon!}

IMG_5223

{eloise in her sun hat. my heart melts.}

this weekend flew by – did it for you too? while my days felt similar to that of the week since we are on the same feeding schedule, it was so great to have aaron home to keep us company! we are gearing up for a string of hot days & it has definitely been warm in the house so eloise & I are spending a lot of time downstairs in the nursery where it is cool. we had a few visitors stop by the house this weekend – so great to see everyone! – & have aaron’s parents coming into town this week!

{a friend brought over the most beautiful dahlias – thanks ashley!}

{in honor of the late robin williams, we watched a bit of the birdcage.}

this was our first full weekend as a family & boy was it a great one! my mom is still in town & it has been so nice to have an extra set of hands around. the weather was a little hotter than I would have liked, but since our nursery is in the basement, it is much more tolerable. we stayed around the house & tried to get things organized {I definitely owe you an update on the house!} & even managed to get some sleep! today also marked eloise’s first full week – the longest, craziest, best week ever! how was your weekend?

project baby {it’s a girl!}

as many of you know from calls, text, or instagram, {or have guessed from the radio silence} we have a brand-new addition to our family!

we would love to officially {albeit belatedly} introduce our daughter to the interwebs!

eloise grace lower

we are all home & doing well. thank you so much for all of the love over these past few days! I’ll be back next week with more updates!

welcome to the world eloise!
