this weekend flew by – did it for you too? while my days felt similar to that of the week since we are on the same feeding schedule, it was so great to have aaron home to keep us company! we are gearing up for a string of hot days & it has definitely been warm in the house so eloise & I are spending a lot of time downstairs in the nursery where it is cool. we had a few visitors stop by the house this weekend – so great to see everyone! – & have aaron’s parents coming into town this week!

this was our first full weekend as a family & boy was it a great one! my mom is still in town & it has been so nice to have an extra set of hands around. the weather was a little hotter than I would have liked, but since our nursery is in the basement, it is much more tolerable. we stayed around the house & tried to get things organized {I definitely owe you an update on the house!} & even managed to get some sleep! today also marked eloise’s first full week – the longest, craziest, best week ever! how was your weekend?

as many of you know from calls, text, or instagram, {or have guessed from the radio silence} we have a brand-new addition to our family!

we would love to officially {albeit belatedly} introduce our daughter to the interwebs!

{hit up the nordy’s anni sale with my mom on saturday. haven’t been to the anni sale in person in years since I always pre-sale. what a nut house!}

{I finally decided I could wear a pair of birkenstocks. then I found out my feet are too small… #fail}

{finally got the glider for the nursery delivered! it is living in the living room until the nursery space is ready.}

this weekend we had the pleasure of hosting my parents & some cooler summer weather! I feel like we got quite a few things checked off the to-do list which is feeling really great. a little weird to be going into my last week of work this week – it’s hard to complain about monday morning!

{tried marination ma kai – a food truck turned restaurant – & it was awesome. there wasn’t shave ice since the freezer was out which was a bit of a bummer. 90 degrees + pregnant misha = wants shave ice}

this weekend was hot, hot,, hot! a lot of you can easily do high 80s or low 90s without breaking a sweat {pun intended!} but I know you are doing it with A/C. I was able to make it most of the day, but by about 5 or 6 I was ready to be cooled down. luckily both mornings this weekend we attended a childbirth & breastfeeding class at swedish hospital – it was not only very informative but had A/C! I am gearing up for my last two weeks of work before I start my leave {!} & looking forward to enjoying some summer before baby lower joins the fam {though a bit cooler would be more pleasant!}. how was your weekend?

project baby {maternity photos}

as some of you may have seen here or here we were getting sneak peaks to our maternity photoshoot from a few weeks back. we worked with melissa from tiny newborn photography which was amazing! she suggested & then met us out at golden gardens in the ballard neighborhood of seattle. it was a beautiful day with lots of light – great for pics!

did you do a maternity photoshoot? did you go solo or include the whole family?

p.s. this banana republic dress is not maternity, but fits so well over the bump! it is on sale, so if you are preggers & need a great black maxi dress, this is the one. I bought it in petite which means it isn’t dragging on the ground. seriously, I will be living in this dress until fall comes (& will likely pair it with a cardi or jacket by then!).

project baby {boise baby sprinkle}

as I mentioned in this week’s bump update, my friends jen & beth threw me a baby sprinkle {a shower with a sprinkle theme} last weekend while we were in boise. they did an amazing job {especially considering they have a 3 week old & a 12 week old, respectively} & it was such a perfect way to celebrate baby lower with old friends & family. everyone that was there I have known for at least 10 years so it was really special to celebrate with this group of ladies. thank you so much jen & beth for the sprinkle!

there were lots of yummy desserts – all with sprinkles! – a fantastic drink bar – with lemonade, my fav – peonies, & these gorgeous paper garlands! plus, there were lots of mamas & daughters which makes me so happy.

amanda’s baby brunch.

I had the pleasure of hosting a baby brunch last weekend to celebrate my good friend amanda & her baby boy! she requested a simple affair that was focused on quality time with girlfriends. after amanda chose steelhead diner {right at pike place market!} for the venue, the rest of the brunch came together really easily. amanda’s friend kelly acted as my co-host & we came up with this simple pinboard.

{the main focus of the décor was the table: a simple kraft paper runner with a few flower arrangements & succulents}

{a simple guess-how-much-candy-in-the-bowl game // a thumbprint guestbook that will be a keepsake for baby boy’s nursery}

the kraft paper runner was a simple version of this one
the low flower arrangements were a combination of a whole foods bouquet & peonies.
the “instruction cards” were handmade with faux calligraphy & washi tape buntings

the glass candy dish was from michael’s

{sorry for the delay in this post – we landed in seattle late yesterday night & hit the ground running!}

{we got off a red-eye flight from seattle to chicago last week & drove to indiana. in hindsight, this was a terrible idea. #wenappedinapaneraparkinglot}

we had a whirlwind trip to indiana to see aaron’s family & attend colt & erin’s nuptials this past week. it was so great to see so much family & get to spend some quality time with our niece & nephews {though it is so tough to not see them more often!}. the weather was beautiful & we both enjoyed a stretch of sunny weather with very little humidity {yay!} – looking forward to the summer weather that will hopefully descend upon the emerald city in the coming months. thanks to everyone who made time to hang out with us while we were in town – hope to do it again sometime very soon!
