{one} made by layla peg dolls.

{maddie all in a row set}

aaron & I both really love wooden toys for kids & hope to limit the amount of plastic toys our kiddos have {I know all of you parents out there think we are crazy, & we probably are!}. when I saw these peg dolls show up in my instagram feed the other day, I was dying. how cute are these?

{two} little guy in a minion costume.

one of my favorite animated movies is despicable me & I adore those minions. {doesn’t everyone?} this video of a little guy dressed up as a minion is hilarious!

{three} baby hats.

as the weather is starting to turn colder, I am on the search for cold weather accessories for eloise. I am dying to get her this pom-pom beanie!

eloise {nursery reveal}

yay, eloise’s nursery is finally ready for its big reveal! last spring I shared the moodboard I created & looking back on it, it was pretty darn on point!

when I first envisioned this space, I knew that it was a room that I needed to love. new mamas & papas spend so, so much time in the nursery & it is important that they feel comfy in the space. the two requirements for me were: calming & sophisticated (in that it didn’t feel like a pre-school). plus, let’s be honest, nurseries – like first birthday parties – are much more for the parents than the babies.

I was a bit nervous about how this space would come together since I did so in bits & pieces, & really didn’t get everything together until the week before eloise was born (due to our on-going house remodel). I had to trust my instincts on what I thought would work & wouldn’t work, & I am so thrilled about how eloise’s nursery came together!

& what you have all been waiting for. enjoy!

{eloise has the best hair. plus she has this great cowlick, or giddy giddy as my hawaiian friends would refer to it.}

IMG_5490

{you know it’s fall when you eat pumpkin everything!}

what a quick weekend – I blinked & it was over! we had a few social gatherings planned & it was great to catch up with some friends. we also got some things organized around the house – we are making progress! this is the first weekend that really felt like fall – the temps have cooled down & the rainy season is starting.

{one} anthropolgie for fall.

poppy dress

{lauren moffatt poppy field dress}

eloise & I browsed anthro the other day & boy, anthro is killing it! usually I could only see myself in a handful of pieces {a little too bohemian for me} but I found myself wanting so many pieces. this lauren moffatt dress is at the top of my wishlist & I am saving my pennies!

{two} mini boden jacket.

mini boden

as the weather is beginning to turn colder here in the pnw, I have been thinking about what kind of jacket to get eloise that would work for the fall & into the winter (with more layers). this jacket is absolutely adorable!

{three} happy halloween banner.

I am loving the halloween décor at paper source lately. maybe I will get around to decorating our house for the holiday before the 31st…

IMG_5450

{saying good-bye to my late grandmother’s house. so many memories in this place!}

IMG_5451

{started reading to eloise before bedtime & sharing some of our favorite books. chicka chicka boom boom has always been one of my favorites!}

IMG_5453

{went to my first post-partem pure barre class this morning. oh boy! I will definitely be sore after 8 weeks off, but it felt so great to be back at it. hard to believe the last time I was there I was 39 weeks pregnant.}

IMG_5454

{can’t get enough of these huge honeycrisp apples!}

I don’t know which is harder to believe – that it is already october or the awesome summer weather we have had this weekend! this weekend, per usual, went quickly & we spent most of the time at the house trying to get thru the piles & piles of things that have accumulated from moving back into the house post-remodel. I have a feeling this is what we will be doing for months… on a happier note, I did get in a 2+ hour nap today – thanks to aaron & eloise for letting me sleep that long! how was your weekend?

friday I’m in love.

{sorry this is such a late post today. when you are a brand-new mom & you have a choice between writing a blog post & going to bed, you sometimes always choose going to bed!}

{one} gilmore girls on netflix.

Gilmore-Girls-HQ-gilmore-girls-28792156-2560-1936

any other gilmore girls fans out there? I am slightly obsessed. my mom’s ringtone is the theme song from this show… any-hoo. I am stoked that the entire series is now available on netflix! seriously. now I just need to find some free time to watch it…

{two} eloise in aaron’s baby clothes.

photo 1photo 2

aaron’s sister cari had saved some of aaron’s old baby clothes & gave them to us around the time that eloise was born. it has been so fun to see her dressed up in his old clothes!

{three} oh joy for target.

oh joy

I believe this is the third installation of oh joy for target but I just can’t get enough! this makes me want to throw a party!

{everyone wanted to cuddle this evening – sadie & eloise!}

we had a pretty relaxing weekend – watching a lot of football & hanging out with my mom & uncle who were in town for a visit. aaron & I also got to have a fun date night tonight – without baby – dinner & ice cream. it was perfect! we did miss our little one though but knew she was in such good hands. we enjoyed some nice sunny weather, but there has been crisp cool air for the past few days which tells me our summer weather is short lived & on the way out – hello fall!

{one} happy birthday sadie!

IMG_0452

I want to wish our girl sadie the very happiest of birthdays today! happy tenth birthday! you are the most amazing dog we have ever known & bring us so much joy every day. while you are no longer the complete center of attention – ahem, eloise – we love you dearly & are in awe of how much you do love your little sister eloise!

{two} naps.

nap

{via etsy}

for you other mamas out there, you know that the old adage “sleep when the baby sleeps” is nearly an impossible feat! however, this t-shirt message is also true. there is no time in my life that I have wanted to nap more!

{three} this is where I leave you.

I don’t feel like I will be seeing a movie in the theaters again ever for a while, but this movie looks fantastic! thank goodness for netflix.

IMG_5385

{this little gal is rockin’ at tummy time. at least in small chunks!}

IMG_5386

{I made my first solo trip out of the house without eloise to joann & target. it is so much faster to run errands without a babe, but I missed her terribly! thanks aaron for holding down the fort while I was out!}

IMG_5387

{I busted out my sewing machine to get a quick project done, but lost the power cord to the machine. once aaron found it for me – thanks! – eloise was fussing, friends came over to say hi, & then it was bedtime. someday I will finish this project.}

IMG_5389

{eloise all clean after bathtime. these are aaron’s old care bear pjs that his sister sent over! #vintage}

this weekend went by so quickly & so slowly at the same time. I guess that is the way life feels with a newborn around. I can’t even specifically recall what we did yesterday, but we stuck around the house to get things in order & try to knock some things off of our ever-growing to do list. we had a bout of hot summer-y weather this weekend which is likely the last for the season, but it was nice to have such beautiful sunny skies the past couple of days. that said, I am totally ready for fall weather. how was your weekend?

M

a mom’s first birthday

just a little something extra for your Friday! a new mom friend shared this beautiful video & I just had to share it! {you will want to make sure the English subtitles – press the CC button – are on & probably want to grab a Kleenex!}

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu3iM1azTj4

this moved me to tears even as a mama to five week old Eloise & I know it will mean so much more in the coming year. much love to all of you mamas & mamas-to-be!
