{I ordered this Life in Play tote organizer & it came friday. essentially you can turn any tote bag into a diaper bag. yes, please! I love my diaper bag, but I need some diversity. I have been using it with my old trusty Madewell tote & my bag is slightly narrow for the organizer, but it works well!}

{eloise spends much of her playtime with a toy in her mouth & one in each hand. definitely an only child who doesn’t attend daycare!}

{we can’t seem to get enough of the local strawberries. I picked up two cartons on saturday afternoon & by sunday morning they were gone! we finally introduced them to eloise & she loves them, though I did notice a slight rash on her face this morning. better watch that strawberry juice in the future.}

{eloise has started to discover the world beyond her nursery door.}

{this is her new favorite thing to do: pull out all of the books. this evening I moved some books around & added a few of eloise’s books & toys to the shelf. if she is going to explore in that area, I might as well make it eloise-friendly!}

{sadie is pretty unsure of eloise’s mobility.}

{eloise’s favorite things these days are non-toys. like water bottles. she spent about 15 minutes with this one & giggling & laughing. it was adorable!}

we had a pretty low-key weekend with not a lot of plans. so I just took pictures of eloise! it was so, so hot here & it zapped the energy right out of me. way too hot for june! we have had fans running all weekend all over the house in order to stay cool. how was your weekend?

{our thermostat upstairs was reading 79 degrees by noon on friday meaning it was hotter inside than it was outside! luckily our downstairs (& bedrooms) are running about 5 degrees cooler. mind you, we don’t have A/C!}

{eloise has decided that what’s on the coffee table sure is interesting. & the table is low enough that she can put two hands up from being down on her tummy… she’s going to be trouble soon enough!}

{eloise was enjoying the fan breeze to cool off on friday afternoon.}

{eloise loves to stand & has discovered that the ottoman in her nursery is perfect for leaning against.}

{on saturday afternoon aaron starting putting together our new shed.}

{the man & his shed. we are in the beginning stages of completely re-doing our backyard, so don’t mind the neighbor’s peeling garage wall. we are planning on painting it soon!}

{gave myself a much-needed mani & pedi on saturday night while we caught up on all of our shows. we don’t watch a lot of TV & typically binge on TV shows a couple of nights a week. currently we are catching up on the last episodes of shows. like grey’s anatomy. such a sad show!}

{a gold pedicure in support of our niece charlotte who will have surgery to remove the tumor on her liver on tuesday. #charlottestrong}

{eloise & her “dude” who is green & gold (in support of liver & pediatric cancers) gave me a thumbs up to share with charlotte this morning. completely a coincidence that the only picture she was smiling in she was also giving a thumbs up!}

{eloise attended her first mariner’s game this afternoon & she loved it. she napped on aaron for about 30 minutes… could have used more sleeping today, but no melt-downs so hard to complain.}

{family day at the mariner’s game. we went with three other families from our PEPS group (so there were four 9 month olds all together) & we were quite the spectacle. we lasted the entire game, but left at the start of extra innings. the mariners ended up losing 6 to 3 to the indians in 12. bummer.}

we didn’t have a lot of plans this weekend, but it ended up feeling busy. since we haven’t had a lot of plans during the past few weekends, we have been trying to devote some much-needed time & energy to various parts of the house. slowly but surely we are getting things checked off the list! we also had really amazing (hot) weather & it is finally starting to feel like summer! how was your weekend?

{eloise had swim lessons on saturday morning. the pool is so cold, but she was a champ & practiced her floating.}

{life is a bowl of cherries, right? we are loving that rainier cherries are in season.}

{eloise & I took aaron out for a birthday brunch to one of our favorite places in the city, portage bay (who is finally taking reservations!). we split the pancakes & a reuben eggs benedict – so delish!}

{I got aaron a grill for his birthday. it is what every man needs in his life, right?}

{eloise is a pro at posing for photos these days. & always so curious about what we are doing with our phones!}

{we enjoyed a dim sum brunch with jess, cale, & jaz this morning. such yummy food & great company!}

{I love this little one. she (mostly) plays so well by herself & is the sweetest little bug. how did we get so lucky?}

after a really long & tough week (I got food poisoning!} a long weekend was exactly what I needed. we didn’t have a lot of plans, but did a lot of celebrating since it was aaron’s birthday on sunday. while not well documented, we had a pretty fun weekend!

also, I did want to thank everyone who has been a member of our armed services for the sacrifice that they made for our country & for our citizens. thank you for your service. & today may we remember those who have fallen in the line of duty so that we can all be free. we will never forget.

{eloise & I headed out to her swim lesson on saturday morning, & were only a few minutes late! she was rocking her watermelon swim diaper & stripey rashguard – so, so cute!}

{I have started giving eloise kitchen utensils to play with while I prep her dinner. thanks for the tip about the silicone pastry brush amanda!}

{I got new cloth napkins (& that gorgeous glassybaby} as part of my mother’s day gift this year & picked up some placemats to match the springy theme.}

{eloise has discovered how fun it is to play peek-a-boo with the foldable laundry basket. she was all giggles this weekend.}

{spent my saturday night catching up on blogs & sipping hot chocolate in bed after eloise went down. & then I went to sleep at 9:30. it was glorious!}

{I think sadie got the memo that aaron was coming home this afternoon. she waited all day on her stool looking out the window.}

{eloise & I were flipping thru her picture book, & she was pointing & smiling at the faces (of her, me, & aaron), & her toys. it was really cool!}

aaron was out of town {celebrating cale’s bachelorhood} in vegas this weekend, so eloise & I were flying solo. we had lots of plans & it felt like we were on the go all weekend. it was great to see so many people & get a surprising amount of things done despite the complete lack of photos. but you just really want to see pictures of eloise, right? we are glad to have papa back in town & gearing up for a new week. how was your weekend?

{ah! what a fun way to spend Mother’s Day weekend with this wonderful woman kendra! I was thrilled we were both in the same place in the world today. let’s move seattle & orlando closer together…}

we spent the weekend in indiana visiting with aaron’s family & it has been a whirlwind of family & friends – so fun to introduce eloise to everyone! the weather has been summer-y which we have been enjoying since we probably won’t get this weather in seattle for a few more months… I will be sure to share many more pics from the trip after we get home (probably next week sometime?). how was your weekend?

{my favorite coffee shop – the coffee bean & tea leaf – is only at sea-tac airport. luckily we flew out of seattle on thursday en route to charlotte!}

{eloise did SO well on the two flights we had to get to charlotte. she took a nap on each flight & had a meal. we even got a compliment from an old man sitting in front of us on what a good kid she was! thanks eloise!}

{eloise had fun looking at cabinets & fixtures trying to help her aunt jodi & uncle david figure out options for their new kitchen reno.}

{uncle aaron got to see our nephew gavin’s game on saturday. his team is the mariners!}

we headed east to charlotte, NC at the end of last week to visit aaron’s brother david & his family. it has been over a year since we have seen them so it has been fun to catch up & introduce eloise to everyone. how was your weekend?

{eloise thoroughly enjoyed her dinner at Rain City Burgers. we brought her dinner (avocados, blueberries, pears) but also got her a plain beef patty which she seemed to like!}

{yep, I totally spy on my daughter on the webcam when she sleeps. it gives me peace of mind. plus, I get to see funny things, like the fact eloise likes to sleep with her feet up on the side of the crib & with her lovie across her face.}

{it is hard to believe it is peony season! you better believe I scooped up a bouquet for the house! weird to think this was last peony season.}

we had a super low-key weekend hanging out mostly at home & it was just what I needed after a bit of a stressful end to my week. & then the weekend ended with pure barre & a family dance party to shake it off by our very favorite t. swift! how was your weekend?

{it was so warm & sunny on friday afternoon that sunscreen was in order. eloise (surprisingly) didn’t mind it a bit!}

{eloise & I went with my mom (Grammie) to the Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon. it was so gorgeous!}

{I finally finished & ordered eloise’s second quarter photobook & we just got it in the mail. I love this addition to our coffee table. I have been using Chatbooks which now has a website & it’s wonderful!}

{I got around to ordering pull handles for our closet doors. we have only been without any for eight months… why did I wait so long?}

{we had our friends jess & cale over for dinner on saturday & always end up playing Fibbage & Drawful. so fun! thanks for bringing dinner & hanging out!}

{eloise was taking her cereal beard very seriously today at lunch & would not let me wipe it off.}

{eloise & I attended a baby shower for two very dear friends who are expecting a baby girl next month. we can’t wait to meet you Baby Slade!}

we started the weekend in La Conner (north of Seattle) which was so beautiful! the warm weather stuck around & it ended up feeling like summer. I am so ready. this weekend just flew by & we will be gearing up for a new week. how was your weekend?

{we finally did some yardwork this weekend after our neighbor mowed most of our front yard – we have the BEST neighbors! it was sunny but a little cold, so eloise was in a sunhat along with her fleece jacket & booties.}

{eloise’s hair these days is so awesome. it isn’t a mohawk like it was when she was a newborn, but still has so much volume.}

{I finally found a way to organize my kitchen cabinets to give our spices some more space. they used to be all shoved into a teeny tiny space & it was no bueno. now we have little shelf risers & everything. it is lovely!}

{eloise playing this morning before breakfast. yep, she’s still wearing her christmas jammies. but as you can see by her entire leg hanging out, they are on their last leg (har har, pun intended!). maybe I can catch a hanna andersson sale? those jammies are the best!}

we had a pretty low-key weekend since eloise & I both came down with some kind of cold. not horrid, but lots of nasal congestion (eloise worse than me I think). the sun was out a bit more than expected so we tried to get out into the yard since it has been seriously neglected for close to a year (with the house remodel & living in redmond last spring & summer). now we just need to find some more time to get the work we want done! how was your weekend?

{aaron & I got an easter dinner date night – thanks ben & sarah for watching eloise! – & we went to stumbling goat bistro. it was so delicious. & these macaron ice cream sandwiches were amazing!}

another pretty mellow weekend & the sun was shining! it was a little cold for me, but I have to remind myself that it is still early spring & we had such a mild (& warm) winter. lots of small things were completed around the house, though it feels like the to do list is neverending! maybe next weekend… how was your weekend?
