my weekend in pictures.

{Aaron had an unexpected vacation day on Friday and offered to take Daphne out on an adventure, just the two of them. They took the bus and (light rail) train downtown and got a donut. Daphne was so excited and chatted about it for the rest of the day! #papaoftheyear}

{Aaron and I got our October date night on Friday evening! A quick bite at the new Distrct H Market in South Lake Union – which looks like it has amazing Asian food but especially desserts. And then we met up with our friends to do an Escape Room. It was so much fun!}

{The girls had haircuts on Saturday morning. They both wanted it short. And for the first time ever (in two years) Eloise had her hair washed! Usually she opts out and just gets water sprayed in during the cut.}

{Daphne did not want her hair washed but did really love getting her hair cut too!}

{And then we headed to a birthday party. This was right as the pinata was broken (and before the immediate chaos)! Both Eloise and Daphne wanted the treats but both stood back and just watched all of the other kids scurry on the ground. They didn’t get much, but were so polite about it!}

{Daphne’s new ‘do. You guys, we are obsessed. It is so, SO cute!}

{I (finally) touched up the kitchen cabinets on Saturday afternoon. We were at a friends’ house for dinner so I knew the kitchen wouldn’t be used for hours and hours. I’ve also been (slowly) repainting all of the trim in our house. It’s such a huge project but much-needed. It’s really amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do!}

{So this morning, we still had a huge pile of mulch in our driveway. It was delivered a few weeks ago for us and a few neighbors. BUT it was WAY more than we needed. So Aaron spent all morning taking it to neighbors. The girls loved helping and seeing the neighbors. Meanwhile, I trimmed up some of the trees and bushes, and cleaned up and stored all of the summer toys away. Fall, we are ready for you!}

{And I figured it was time to change out the letterboards since the green one was summer-y and the grey one still had “First Day of Kindergarten” – HA!}

We had a fun, fall weekend with a pretty busy Saturday and pretty mellow Sunday. Sort of perfect if you ask me. Plus, the girls let us sleep in both mornings. #winning

The weather was perfect IMHO this weekend – crisp and cool but sunny. I was in Texas last weekend visiting a friend and it was SO HOT! I was dreaming about cooler weather and Seattle delivered it this week.

How was your weekend?
