The Lower family during (summer) quarantine, 2020.
Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE family photos. Generally we only take them once per year (in the fall for Christmas cards) and with Baby Lower due in September, I figured we would just do our family and newborn photos all at the same time! But then I realized that other than my weekly bump photos, I didn’t have any photos of me pregnant with the girls or Aaron. Every other time I’ve been pregnant, we have had professional photos taken, so I was feeling a little bad. Then our county opened into Phase 2 at the start of summer which allowed photographers to start working again! And our usual family photographer started offering mini sessions. She offered to do the shoot in our yard, which felt so appropriate given our time quarantining at home, and it was an easy yes!
So all that to say, if you ever wonder whether you should hire a professional photographer – do it!
I LOVE how well Ashley captured everyone (and all of our different faces) and I will cherish these forever!
Also, this dress was such a great purchase as it is growing so well with my belly. I have pretty much limited my clothes buying to things that I can wear while pregnant but also post-partum. But this dress came out earlier this summer as part of the Target x LoveShackFancy collection and I couldn’t resist! It’s smocked on the top which generally isn’t my favorite, but the rest of the dress makes up for it – the puff sleeves and the midi length. I sized up one size and it will more than likely fit me thru the remainder of my pregnancy.
What a summer to remember!
