On Thursday morning, Aaron & Eloise headed downtown to daycare (& then Aaron went to work) & I hit the road to Bend, Oregon for a much-needed girls’ weekend! These girls are my favorite & we all grew up together (think 20 years of friendship!). And even though we were missing two of the group, we had the best time! Most of us are mamas, so the idea of getting away for a few days without hubbys or babies is heavenly. This was my first time away from Eloise for more than one overnight so I was nervous, but I knew she & Aaron would have the best weekend together!
We didn’t take as many pictures as I normally might on a trip, but that is mostly because we were trying to enjoy our time together. There were just a few to-dos on our list & we spent most of the time just catching up! Here are a few peaks into the weekend & I included a list of places we loved in Bend if you are ever visiting!
{To help Aaron out, especially during the week when he was working, I planned & prepped easy meals for dinner!}
{We lunched at Jackson’s Corner after having manis & it was amazing! If we would have had more time, we would have gone again for another meal.}
{There was a lot of FaceTiming with the kiddos, & I caught Eloise during dinnertime. She loved seeing her Aunties too!}
{The weather was much cooler than any of us had expected, so we appreciated the fire at the table while we waited for dinner at the food truck court that was just down from our rental house. Also, nice manis ladies!}
{It was finally sunny & pretty warm on Saturday afternoon, so we sat outside for a wine tasting. And I am obsessed with my new Old Navy wedges!}
{All four of us on Saturday afternoon enjoying a sunny day of wine tasting, shopping, & girl talk!}
{More wine. Isn’t that chalkboard so cute? And the cheese board was amazing!}
{Keepin’ it classy at dinner our last night. You can take the girl out of the country, but you can’t take country out of the girl!}
{Love these girls!}
{A little coffee shop next to our use that we didn’t discover until we were leaving town. The lattes were amazing!}
Despite driving the 6 hour drive south (& back) solo, it was such a fun, fun trip! Something we have talked about for years, but life is busy with work & babies! Plus, we live all over the country now! Thanks for such a fun weekend ladies & I cannot wait until our next trip together! Nothing beats hanging out with your besties & picking up where you left off. Since we all grew up together, we have lots to reminisce about (since we were all attached at the hip during high school) & most of our kids are just a few months apart (all two this year!). #bestiesbendorbust

P.S. When I woke up on Sunday morning, I was greeted with the shocking & horrifying news about the shooting in Orlando, just as most of you were. There are no words that convey the helplessness & sadness I feel for those who were present, lost, or in the local community. We are sending all of our love, thoughts, & prayers to Orlando.
