a bit of happy news!

Happy (mid to almost late) March! I know it’s been a while since I’ve done a blog post. The year started off a little crazy and then just got every crazier with the Covid-19 quarantining…

And, if you missed it over on Instagram and Facebook, we have officially announced the arrival of Baby Lower who is due at the end of September!

Much like my last pregnancy, we told friends & family that we saw in person over the past weeks. It feels like we’ve know forever since I took a pregnancy test in about my fifth week of pregnancy. I was tracking my cycles with this Ovulation Calculator app so I had a pretty good idea what was happening with my cycle, though I still waited until 5 days after my “missed period” to take a pregnancy test – just to be sure!

Lots of people have told us they are surprised that we are having another baby since we were pretty firm in the past about only having two kids. The TL;DR version is that we changed our minds!

And the longer version is that Aaron was always sure about having two kids, and I would have wanted one more. Last spring, he said “what would it look like if we had one more kid?” and that got a months-long conversation started. We wanted to be sure this was the right decision for our family. Come late fall, the topic was brought up again and we decided we would start trying. At that point, I was in the mindset that what would be, would be and if we were meant to have another baby, it would happen; this was definitely NOT the case when we started trying the first two times and is pretty out of character for me! I started tracking my cycle and I took a pregnancy test in January. We feel really grateful for a healthy pregnancy so quickly.
