project baby #3 {week 29}

{week 29} Even though summer just started (and truly, Seattle is giving us some mixed signals about what season we are actually in!) it feels like fall is just around the corner, along with Baby Lower. 11 weeks and counting.

We were able to get out of the house last weekend for a socially distanced play date with friends who live outside of the city. I was worried about the drive since I have been motion sick almost every time I’ve been in a car ride. But, I wasn’t sick. At all. I think it might have been the change in my meds? Anyways, it was wonderful to see and catch up with friends! We have a handful of close friends we will be seeing (socially distanced, of course) over the next few weeks, and then we’ll go on strict quarantine with just our little family.

This week is actually feeling SO similar to my 29th week with Daphne (linked below): if I wake in the middle of the night, I have to get up and pee; a few Charlie Horse cramps; loss of appetite but also constantly hungry.

Also, I usually join Aaron and the girls in one of the neighborhood walks each day (the three of them usually take a few!) and neighbors who didn’t know about the pregnancy are now noticing my growing belly! It’s so strange because almost none all of our friends locally will see me pregnant because of the COVID quarantine. And who knows when we will actually get to be out with the baby? Hopefully by early next year.

I was able to (finally) schedule the remainder of my pre-natal appointments with my new OB this week. Not surprisingly, these appointments are much more frequent (every two weeks and then every week in September) and also in-person.

I got a call from the OB’s office that I passed my glucose test – yay! – so no gestational diabetes. It wasn’t really something I worried too much about, but it’s nice to know for sure that we won’t have to deal with it for the rest of my pregnancy (and potentially post-partum too). But, my iron levels are pretty low. I realized while I was on the phone with the nurse that when I switched to gummy pre-natal vitamins (since my other ones were making me feel sick along with my morning sickness) that I wasn’t getting any iron supplement. Apparently iron doesn’t translate to gummy vitamins, so a head’s up if you are taking gummies! I’ll need to add an iron supplement to my pill regiment from now on to make sure I don’t become anemic.

And here is my update with Eloise and Daph!

Happy 29 weeks!

M
