project baby #3 {week 27}

{week 27} Happy Summer! And the start of the seventh month and final week of my second trimester.

So we are basically going to meet this baby in THREE MONTHS, give or take a few days. And it feels so crazy to think about that. It seems like such a short amount of time, but it’s an entire season. Plus, if the next few months feels anything like the past few months, it’s going to feel pretty long. Thanks COVID! (Ha!)

Even though I know it’s important, I have been super lazy about working out these past few weeks. Maybe it’s the weather? And also with the girls finishing up school last week, the last thing I wanted to do was work out during their nap/quiet time in the afternoon. If I don’t get a workout in pretty early in the morning (okay, by pretty early I mean before 10 am) I can nearly always talk myself out of it! But, I know how much it helped me during the end of my pregnancy, labor & delivery, and even post-partum to be in good shape, so I am going to try to be better about bi-weekly workouts over the summer!

I have been starting to feel a little swollen these past few days as well. Mostly in my hands. [I am feeling grateful though that I didn’t develop (pregnancy) carpal tunnel in my wrists these last two pregnancies the way I did with my first!] I think the swelling is partly due to being 27 weeks into the pregnancy and also partly due to the rising temperatures. It has definitely felt like summer in Seattle these past few days!

Baby has decided that between 10 and 10:30 pm is a really great time to start moving around and having a tiny dance party. This is usually around the time I head down to bed and read for a bit before sleep. But I’ve found that I have been wanting to stay up just a little bit later in order to feel those baby movements. And, sometimes I can’t fall asleep with all of that movement! Luckily, we get to sleep in most mornings so the late nights are do-able!

Nesting is in full-force around here, and it has come in the form of cleaning out and organizing. And with Eloise with my parents this week (she is quarantining with them in Boise) it has been easier for me to actually sort and get rid of things without her intervening and wanting to save everything! We spend SO much time at home now (and likely will until at least the end of the year or maybe longer?) so I am interested in just getting rid of the extra stuff we’ll never use and de-clutter. It feels amazing! Aaron and I also have a few bigger projects that we’d like to get completed this summer, including (Aaron building) a new outdoor shed, power washing the front and back decks, and touching up paint in the nursery.

And here’s the weekly updates for Eloise and Daphne!

Happy 27 weeks!
