Technically today is Daphne’s first day of preschool at Birch School. It’s the same preschool she was attending the past year and a half, but she would have been going 4 mornings per week this school year.
Because of COVID (high local rates, my pregnancy and the baby, Grammie coming to stay, etc.) Aaron and I decided not to send her in-person. And virtual “play” preschool isn’t really a thing. So, she’ll be home for the foreseeable future. Once we settle into fall, the baby is born, and we can see what COVID rates are really looking like as we enter into cold and flu season, we’ll start to plan out if and when in-person makes sense for our family. We are truly hoping that by late-ish fall or early winter we can send Daph to school!
But until then, Daphne seems happy to be home with everyone else. She’s excited for Grammie to be coming up in a few weeks and for the new workbooks (just tracing and connect-the-dots) and Toy Story pencils to help give her some activities when Eloise starts school on Friday.
And here’s Daphne’s first day of preschool last year!
Happy First Day, Daph (even though you can’t go yet)!
