{month nineteen} Lots of photos of this little DUDE for you. How is he looking so old already? Also, I generally think that Fitz and Daphne look so much alike these days, but in this monthly photo I think Fitz and Eloise look so much alike (her photo is linked below).
Fitzgerald’s favorite thing right now is CHEERS! If he has a cup and sees you with one, he will say CHEERS! and try to clink his cup to your cup. It’s so sweet!
And while he’s at the table, he is still a pretty great eater. Doesn’t seem to like mango these days (which is strange – who doesn’t like mango?!) but will still try nearly everything he’s offered. He usually eats fruit first, and then he will point to his plate where his fruit was and ask for MORE. Exactly the way Daphne did!
If he makes a mess, which, let’s be honest, is a lot, he will say MESS! and then run to the kitchen to get a rag. He’s sort of obsessed with cleaning up messes (and making them too)! And he’s happy to help clean up which is great.
I read an article last week that an 18 month old can learn 2 words per day. That sounds like a lot! But, Fitz will now repeat everything you say to him, so I am guessing he could learn 2 words per day. He still does a bit of signing (for the signs he knows) but really is verbalizing so much! I know his language will be exploding in this next year.
We still aren’t driving around much with Fitz. He still really dislikes the car and we don’t have to take him too many places. When we did take him out a few weeks ago (to get the car washed – the irony) he got sick all over his seat… poor guy. It’s really the worst. Luckily we had a warm-ish sunny day that day so I could leave the seat out in the sun after cleaning. But, sheesh, it makes any future road trips pretty hard to commit to. Oof.
As the weather has become warmer and drier, he and I have spent SO much more of our mornings together outside. He LOVES the little playhouse out in the backyard. It is the perfect size for him right now. And he loves to dig – always carrying a shovel around if he can. And then for his morning snack, I will often load him up with his snack in the stroller and take a walk around the close blocks.
