oh summer!

believe it or not, summer is right around the corner! it happened so fast I feel like I blinked and we went from january to may – what happened?

this summer holds a lot for our little family of three {yep, three includes sadie} but unlike other summers, we will end the summer with one more than we started with! our June is packed full of a wedding, a maternity photoshoot, double dinner dates, hosting a baby shower, attending a baby shower for me & baby lower, & a celebration of the life of my late grandmother, just to name a few things. july is less scheduled but definitely busy with baby prep & moving the house project along thru it’s final stretch. august, it turns out, has only three for-sure things: two date nights and a birthday!!

like kendra, I will also be taking a bit of a blog break for these summer months. while we will continue the weekly bump updates {that will turn into weekly updates of the babe!} and updates on the house, my other blog posts -including Friday I’m in love and perhaps my weekend in photos – will be on hiatus until the fall.

{celebrated a birthday dinner at steelhead diner at pike place market. the food was delish!}

{we stayed at the w hotel this weekend & it was so nice of them to remind us what time of day it was.}

{I finally got started on a craft project for baby lower’s nursery at crafternoon with amanda.}

we had such an enjoyable long weekend vacationing in downtown seattle. we puttered around the shopping area downtown, took a few trips to the market, dined in bell town, caught up on grey’s anatomy, & enjoyed not having any plans whatsoever. sadie stayed with our good friends jes & cale – thanks you two! – so we knew we could relax without worrying about her. I can’t believe that we are already post-memorial day! that means aaron is one year older & summer {& baby lower} is right around the corner!

{we took a family walk to & around greenlake on sunday morning. it was so incredibly gorgeous (this picture doesn’t do it justice!).}

{decided I should probably pack up the christmas decorations. the house is definitely not feeling as festive…}

{aaron took down the lights from the outside of the house. & apparently he was also doing some strength training as well.}

so here is my weekend post. on monday evening. where did the weekend go? I swear there weren’t enough days that passed from friday night to last night to count as an entire weekend. I blinked & went from saturday to monday! I am blaming on it being such a weird week since the holiday was on wednesday… how was your weekend? M

{working on a project for a Pinterest Christmas. if that isn’t exciting, I don’t know what is!}

{I was in need of a mani & this time of year opi’s lincoln park after dark is my go-to. I just picked up this julep freedom top coat that the gals use when I go into julep for manis & it is awesome! it cures in 10 minutes – no smudged nails. seriously, if you do your own manis put it on your christmas wishlist!}

{I popped into banana republic after getting my hair blown out & styled on sunday morning. next on the list for the day: family christmas card pictures.}

{we found ourselves in south lake union – a neighborhood just north of downtown – on sunday afternoon & aaron wanted to pop into the tesla store for fun. just sitting in that car felt expensive.}

{west elm is also conveniently in south lake union, so we browsed the “garage sale” of floor model furniture & made wishlists for our house – okay that last one was just me. plus, I thoroughly enjoyed the christmas décor even in early november. I am not ready for christmas decorations everywhere, but seeing a few makes me excited for the holiday season!}

this weekend flew by, despite the extra hour we got on sunday! we had family friends in town which meant we got to have friday night & saturday night dinner with my grandmother – so pleasant – & spent the rest of the weekend without a lot of plans. it is pretty crazy to think we are already a few days into november, but it definitely feels like fall in seattle with rain, wind, & leaves on the ground. how was your weekend?

{yep, painting again. finally finishing up the hallway that i started last weekend.}

{one of two trips this weekend to the lowe’s paint counter. has anyone else tried to match ceiling paint without a really good ceiling sample? fellow homeowners please do us all a favor & leave a sample paint can of the ceiling paint for the next owner.}

{paint samples to figure out what color to paint the hallway. we went with driftwood grey by martha stewart. grey, i know, surprising.}

{on friday night we celebrated my good friend sascha’s thirtieth birthday at bastille in ballard. happy birthday sascha!}

{you can’t come empty handed to a birthday party, right? cupcakes it is!}

this weekend flew by – did it for you too? i don’t understand how monday thru friday often drag on & on, & then saturday & sunday are gone in a blink! we were busy wrapping up a few on-going projects on the house & trying to tackle our ever-growing {out of control} yard. how was your weekend?

{i dragged aaron down to pike place market on sunday (along with everyone & their mothers!) in search for the season’s first peonies. turns out, at least in the emerald city, the market venders won’t have peonies for another four weeks. boo. i did find these beauties though: peony tulips!}

we had an absolutely beautiful mother’s day weekend full of sun & warm weather! i’ve said it before & i will say it again: there is no city more beautiful than seattle when it is sunny!
