OOF.

we are OOF* today so there won’t be any my weekend in pictures post today. sad, i know. but, i have scheduled some posts & i will be back next week for regularly scheduled programming.

*does anyone understand why the acronym for out of office is OOF & not OOO? or even OFF? OOF makes no sense. none at all.

my weekend in pictures.

{woke up friday morning to a double rainbow. so beautiful!}

{my first time making baked potatoes in the crock pot. success! wash potatoes, wrap in foil, set crock pot on low, & cook for 8 hours. aaron wanted the skin crispy so he put a little oil on the skins & put them in the toaster oven.}

{aaron ran (& survived) tough mudder with his brother & some friends on saturday.}

{on sunday we took my grandmother to yogurtland for the first time. she was literally a kid in a candystore, you should have seen her bee-line for the candy toppings!}

{i got caught up on a few of my magazine subscriptions. yep, that is still the vogue september issue that i haven’t gone thru & i already have the october issue.}

{perusing my food pinterest board for recipes for dinner this week.}

{we celebrated sadie’s birthday on sunday & boy was she spoiled: a new squeaky toy, a big bone, & a birthday cookie!}

how was your weekend?

my long weekend in pictures: indiana edition.

we left last thursday for a long weekend in the midwest to spend time with aaron’s family.

{we stayed with aaron’s friend colt, his girlfriend erin, & gertie the bulldog. i spent friday night cuddling with gertie.}

{i finally got to meet kenley! she is the daughter of kendra – aaron’s cousin – & such a doll!}

{teddy – aaron’s nephew – is already a slugger. let’s go 6-7!}

{we crashed a wedding reception on saturday night. a cousin of a cousin is family, right? congratulations logan & vanessa!}

{it was a bit sunny with the roof open at lucas oil field, but aaron made do.}

we had so much fun catching up with family & friends – thanks for having us indiana! aaron has quite a large family, most of whom still live in indiana, so we get spoiled whenever we go because we get to see so many people. we also got spoiled this time & got a chance to see family that flew in from out of town – thanks for making the last minute trip kendra & kenley! thanks to everyone for such a fun weekend!

{rockin’ my new flats on date night saturday night. we went and saw premium rush with gordon joseph-leavitt. it gave me a lot more respect for bike couriers & a lot less respect for cops.}

{thanks to the seattle ban on plastic bags & charge for paper bags i get to use really cute reusable bags.}

{aaron was so enthusiastically cleaning sap off of our windshield that he may or may not have broken the handle.}

we had a sunny & fun-filled weekend with friends & family, but boy it went quickly! how was your weekend?

i can’t believe how fast the weekend went. i either need time to stop for a bit so i can catch up, or i need more days in the week. how was your weekend?

my long weekend in pictures.

{ben, sarah, sam, diane, cal, aaron & i went wine tasting in woodinville on saturday.}

{we stopped at woodinville’s warehouse district where many of the vineyards in eastern washington set up tasting rooms. there were lots!}

we had a lot on our plates this weekend & are thankful it was a long one! aaron’s parents were here until sunday morning & there was so much to do in the yard & around the house. i am bummed that the weekend is already over (it was so nice to sleep in & hang out with aaron & sadie), but the forecast is shaping up to give us at least another week of summer-like weather, so i can’t complain too much. how was your long weekend?

we enjoyed the sunny, but cooler weekend with projects around the house & a few get-togethers with friends. we are gearing up for a very busy week at the lower house! how was your weekend?

{aaron went sailing on lake washington with one of my law school friends, ben, who is a merchant marine. sadie & i enjoyed the lakeside in leschi (a seattle neighborhood on lake washington) while we waited for the boys to sail back to shore.}

{our sunday night was filled with ryan seacrest & the closing ceremonies of the olympics.}

{my favorite part of the closing ceremonies: the spice girls reunion.}

we kept busy around the house this weekend & finally organized the basement! it was hot here all weekend & definitely felt like summer – wahoo! how was your weekend?

{aaron ran around all weekend propping open all the storm windows in various parts of the house to help us stay cool in the 90 degree weather we had in seattle this weekend. i realize 90 is not that hot, especially with much of the country into triple digits, but this is HOT & we don’t have A/C.}
