{one} sandra boynton books in español.

{via Amazon}

books have always been important to us when it comes to reading to baby. we have them all over the house & have incorporated them into both eloise’s naptime & bedtime routine. after reading this Nat Geo article {thanks Dad!} we are even more on board about books, reading to eloise, & exposure to foreign language. sandra boynton is one of our favorite authors around here & her books are available in spanish!

{two} fierce.

This is the year I will be stronger, braver, kinder, and unstoppable. This year I will be fierce.

{via}

this is the perfect quote for me as I start this year. motherhood has pushed me to be a person that I never thought I could be {for the better!} & I feel empowered to be fierce!

{three} west elm souk wool rug.

{via West Elm}

my very favorite & go-to home décor store West Elm is having a limited sale which includes this beautiful souk rug I have had my eye on for some time. even though it’s a super popular rug & used on a lot of design sites, it is nice to see it used in different spaces {which makes me think it would look great in our living room too!}. I am hoping to upgrade the sad little rug we have in our living room some day…

{one} julep florence polish.

Thumbnail dollop of Classic camel crème nail polish

{via julep}

my wonderful husband met a friend at greenlake for a walk {& took eloise} & suggested that I go get a mani/pedi this afternoon while he was out. #husbandoftheyear #Ilovepaternityleave luckily, today was a slow day at Julep {my fav nail salon} & I got right in. I haven’t had a mani/pedi since before eloise was born {!} – it was luxurious. any-hoo I chose florence as my mani color & I am obsessed. it is the perfect color to feel like you are put together, but not flashy. plus, as it starts to chip, it won’t be so obvious.

{two} manhattan toy company.

{via}

eloise already has a ton {a TON} of toys, but our favorite ones have been from the manhattan toy company. eloise loves this one {the Winkel – we refer to as Doug}, this one {the Ziggles – we refer to as Gretchen}, & a snuggly elephant {which I can’t find a link to, but is pictured with eloise here}.

{three} gap gfast leggings.

GapFit gFast leggings

{gap gfast leggings}

I know most people are obsessed with lululemon for all things workout gear, but I am really loving what GapFit has these days. especially these leggings. they are super comfy, wash well {I wash but don’t dry!}, & have a bit of compression. if you are looking for a new pair of workout pants, I highly recommend (plus they are reasonably priced!).

{one} doll for eloise.

2015/01/img_6155.jpg
I found this adorable doll on Pinterest & immediately fell in love! Can’t you see one year old eloise carrying this around? Sadly, the link doesn’t go anywhere. I may have to turn on my super creative juices and see if I can make it. Or find a similar one on Etsy.

{two} healthy lunches.

2015/01/img_6156.jpg
{via}
I am not on-the-go per se during lunchtime, but I don’t get to sit down & eat very often since eloise keeps me on my toes for most of the day. since that’s the case, I do need to have a lunch (& second lunch!) that is easy to grab & eat. the easier, the better, & these ideas look delish!

{three} slip-on shoes.

2015/01/img_6157.jpg
{via}
based on my pinterest feed & the most recent Nordstrom catalog, 2015 is the year of the slip-on shoe, & I am totally on board! I remember having slip-ons when I was a kid, & then they made a brief appearance in the middle of college. since my basic daily uniform is a pair of skinnies, a button-up shirt, a cardigan, & a bun, slip-ons are a perfect addition!

{one} misha & puff.

{via misha & puff}

this adorably cute shop has stolen my heart for some time now – I follow her on instagram – partly because the shop has an awesome name {!} & mostly because the clothes are so. darn. cute. a sale is going on starting today & I may have picked up something for eloise’s 6 month photoshoot {the sun suit!}. oh, I can’t wait to see her in it!

{two} kate spade swim line.

001

{harbour island halter & hipster}

kate spade – an old favorite! – released a swim line just this year & I am loving it {not a big surprise}! maybe it is because we still have months of winter left in the PNW, but I am dreaming of somewhere sunny.

{three} aveda lip glaze.

a gift of smiles

{via aveda}

aaron got me this lip glaze for christmas this year & I am already obsessed with the nepali red color – it’s not a traditional red & reads a bit fuschia, & easier to apply than lipstick.

Friday I’m in love.

a bit of an abbreviated post to end the week. this one {the week I mean} has been one for the history books! I will be sure to enlighten you soon, until then, enjoy your weekend!

hanna andersson christmas jammies for the family

IMG_5938.JPG
{hanna andersson very merry sleepwear}

I am adoring eloise in her christmas jammies that her Grammie got her over thanksgiving and she has been wearing them quite a bit lately in the spirit of the holiday season along with her adorable Santa hat – see here! {plus, I didn’t want her to wear them just one day!} little did I know that we could all get matching jammies! {though it may take some convincing Aaron…}

{one} a santa hat for eloise.

20141204_200146654_iOS

after seeing this post last week, my insanely talented sister-in-law kelly whipped up this eloise-size santa hat & sent it to seattle. i am so in love & eloise has been wearing it non-stop, including to meet santa at nordstrom yesterday morning! thanks for the hat aunt kelly. e will be wearing it all month long!

{two} loyal hana maternity & nursing shirts.

pocketed-short-sleeve-blouse-red-print_1024x1024_1024x1024

{carrie shirt}

as a nursing mama i am constantly searching for flattering shirts that are easy to nurse in. while some regular shirts work, i find most nursing-specific tops to be pretty matronly. i came across a small clothing shop specializing in maternity & nursing pieces on instagram this week & was pleasantly surprised by the selection. i wish i would have found it while i was still pregnant! even still, i am loving the tops like the one above that has concealed zippers in the front for nursing. genius!

{three} inital necklace.

{via sticksandstonesny etsy shop}

i haven’t worn a lot of jewelry since eloise was born, mostly because it is just more of a hassle than it’s worth, but i have been wanting a special piece that represents eloise. i love the idea of a simple necklace (which i know is popular with lots of mamas these days) with eloise’s initial. since initials & monograms are on-trend, there are lots of options out there. adding this one to my wishlist!

{one} thrifty littles’ black friday shopping guide.

{via}

i am loving this guide for black friday sales that is limited to small businesses. when i shop for things for babes – eloise or others – i always look to small businesses first. this is a great compilation of kid-focused businesses & discounts!

{two} j.crew scarf

{j.crew collection cashmere scarf in dot}

last year sadie took some anxiety out on my grey pashmina, much to my dismay. i had forgotten about it when the cold weather hit this year & i spent tons of time looking for it. then i remembered. so, i have been looking for a replacement & i think this j.crew scarf may fit the bill! plus, j.crew is offering 30% off full-priced items with the code HOLIDAY.

{three} santa hat for the babes.

Children's Santa Hat - anthropologie.com #anthroregistry

{anthropologie children’s santa hat}

i LOVE christmas but i try my hardest to get thru thanksgiving before i go all-out for the holiday. i am loving this little santa hat & wish it was eloise’s size! (a few more years…)

{one} pom winter hat.

Club Monaco Hat

{club monaco safiya hat}

i think my favorite winter accessory is a fun pom pom hat. this one is divine & looks so chic!

{two} teething necklace & jewelry.

mamaandlittle

{mama & little sol teething necklace}

my fingers are crossed that eloise won’t start teething soon {this mama is just not ready for that yet!} but i am on the hunt for good teethers. toys & otherwise. i recently discovered the shop mama & little, & love all of the on-trend jewelry. you could wear this stuff & no one would ever know it was silicone for your babe!

{three} ha ha!

circus monkeys

{via}

have i ever shared this saying? it’s one of my favorites & makes me chuckle every time i see it or say it. here’s to a good laugh going into the weekend!

{one} AOL original city.ballet.

AOL

I have always loved ballet & was delighted to find this mini-series documentary about the american ballet company. it is in its second season (which I haven’t started) but each episode is quick – just 5 to 10 minutes! it is a look into the crazy world of ballet & has me so intrigued!

{two} cuyana cape.

cuyana

{classic cape}

over the past five or so years, I have loved capes. as the the weather in seattle has gotten so cold so quickly over the past few days (along with the rest of the country apparently) I have been dreaming about warm cozies! this cape is gorgeous, don’t you think?

{three} a gilded thanksgiving table.

gilded

{via}

we are hosting our first official thanksgiving this year & I am already in planning mode (though my expectations are pretty low, if I am totally honest). I know the food & company will be superb, & I would love to put together a fancy, gilded table. if I re-purpose a few christmas decorations, like a kraft table runner & gold glitter pinecones, I may be in business!
