my weekend in pictures.

{On Friday Eloise’s school had a Winter Bazaar where there were students selling crafts and holiday desserts. Plus the band from the middle school was there to play some Christmas tunes. Eloise attended with her class and fifth grade buddies, but the three of us went back right after school to join in the festivities.}

{The girls were feeling very merry before our party guests arrived this morning!}

{We hosted a Jingle & Mingle Hot Chocolate Party again this year! It’s becoming one of my favorite holiday traditions. I kept things pretty minimal with a small dessert tray. But of course there was also hot chocolate (plus boozy additions), eggnog, mimosas, and coffee!}

{And this is the only picture I took at the party – I really focused on our guests and catching up with everyone! – which is the aftermath of 11 young kids decorating Christmas cookies!}

We had a slightly crazy weekend that started when we woke up on Saturday morning with no heat! Apparently there’s an issue with our boiler which provides hot water – so we didn’t have that all weekend either – and runs our radiant heating system. We couldn’t find anyone locally with the parts to fix it this weekend, so our amazingly wonderful neighbors lent us portable heaters to make sure we didn’t freeze overnight, a shower, and a bathtub for our girls.

But, we still had fun despite being slightly cold! Aaron golfed his best game ever on Saturday afternoon, and we had a Christmas party date night on Saturday evening! It was wonderful to catch up with new and old friends. And then this morning we hosted such a fun get-together.

We are running into this last week of school before Christmas break officially starts. It feels bittersweet that Christmas is already next week. I’m so ready for the holiday and all of the celebrations but sort of feeling like I missed December (and November, for that matter)!

How was your weekend?
