my weekend in pictures.

{On Friday morning we headed east to KidsQuest Children’s Museum in Bellevue to meet up with friends. This is an old, old friend from my childhood who I went to preschool with (!) and her two boys who were in town visiting. Of course, I didn’t get a picture of the kids all together, but these girls LOVED the semi-truck cab and basically didn’t want to leave!}

{On Saturday morning, we celebrated Eloise’s birthday with a big party at the house! It poured rain that morning so we didn’t get to play outside, but it was still fun to see all of our friends! We waited to open presents until after our guests left and Eloise was just so excited!}

{Eloise got a few Lego sets and Aaron happily helped her put one together. It was so sweet to see them work on a project together. I have a feeling this is the first of many Papa-Eloise Lego dates!}

{And on Saturday afternoon we headed to a friend’s birthday party and the girls loved the pool. Luckily the sun came out and it was mostly warm outside.}

{And I couldn’t resist a selfie with Daphne in our matching tops!}

{The girls LOVED this little pool.}

{And then we celebrated with some ice cream cones. Which mostly were consumed before they melted everywhere.}

{On Saturday evening, we left the girls with our babysitter and headed to celebrate our friend Amanda kid-free! We had an AMAZING dinner with a vertical wine tasting and truly wonderful company. Such a fun night!}

{This morning we headed to Seattle Gymnastics Academy for another friend’s birthday party. And after lots of running and jumping, the kids re-fueled.}

{While Daphne napped this afternoon, Eloise and I headed out to Magnuson Park for (another) birthday party. This one was at a big play space with lots of bouncy houses and slides. And then I taught Eloise all of the major characters from Star Wars while she noshed on pizza and cake.}

{Eloise got an Etch-A-Sketch (from Daphne) for her birthday yesterday and has been playing with it non-stop. Such a fun memory from childhood!}

{We celebrated Eloise’s birthday (again) with a dinner at Din Thai Fung this evening – just our little family plus Uncle Ben and Aunt Sarah – which is a birthday tradition in our house!}

{Followed up by ice cream cones at Molly Moon’s, of course! And Uncle Ben taught Eloise how to play “20 Questions” so we all joined in to help!}

{A (pretty) rare family photo.}

{The girls were “sleeping” before we even made it inside this evening!}

Holy weekend, batman! In case you weren’t keeping track, we had six (SIX!) different birthday celebrations this weekend. It was wonderful to see so many friends, of course, and celebrate all of the birthdays, but we are pretty pooped by this evening. And also all sugared out for the next week (or two)!

It was amazing to celebrate Eloise’s turning FIVE though and to see our village come together for her. She is truly such a loved kid, and for that we are so, so grateful. I’ll be sure to share pictures of her party in the next few days.

We are heading into a slightly quieter week (which is much-needed) and still have four more weeks of summer – hooray!

How was your weekend?

  1. I so love all of the pictures! Daphne is growing so much. Eloise doesn’t look a whole lot bigger but I’m sure she has grown some since we last saw her. They are such beautiful little girls. It looked like Eloise had a happy birthday and wow, what a busy week you had! But that’s so much fun when you’re young! Enjoy it while you can! Love to all of you!
